Freshly emptied rum barrels (aged for 6 to 12 months with rum from the Dominican Republic)New barrels made from European oak, lightly toasted and steamed like a white wine barrel before filling. All barrels are stored in Bad Dürkheim in our large warehouse and are filled with high-quality rum that we source from the Caribbean.Up to 20 litres incl. barrel rack.Flavor: tropical fruits and brown sugarThe Dominican Republic is renowned for its high-quality rum, which develops a unique flavor due to the use of special oak casks, often previously used for bourbon or whiskey, and the tropical aging conditions. Rum is made from sugarcane molasses, fermented, distilled, and aged in casks, where a portion of the rum evaporates (known as the “angel’s share”), making the remaining rum more concentrated. Rum is an important part of Dominican culture, enjoyed both neat and in cocktails.Barrel is supplied with wooden or silicone bung.Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks or possibly an uneven bottom are not quality defects, but are rather determined by the nature of the construction and the previous use of the barrels. This does not affect the functionality of the barrel. We check the barrels very carefully for sensory and technical defects during the outgoing inspection. We accept no liability for cracks or fissures that occur during maturation. A possible and reasonable repair is not covered by the guarantee.Please note that the nominal size of wooden barrels does not always correspond to the net content, which may be higher or lower.
