This barrel storage rack is an alternative for a stainless steel rack. The wood storage rack is resistent against acidity of wine, sulphur and it is a durable rack for all vinegar makers. Elevated barrel storage for stylish presentation of your barrique barrel in your showroom. Produced is the exceptionally high storage made of air-dried, planed and sanded oak wood. The final treatment is done by a varnish certified for food. This warehouse is adapted to store a barrel with 225 l capacity. We are happy to adapt the size as desired by the customer. On the front of the warehouse there is space for your advertising sign or an individual laser branding.

STR Cask - Shave, Toast, Re-charred. A cask that offers a combo of fresh Virgin Oak and first-fill red wine cask. As in new oak casks, the whiskey matures faster than in used casks. It still benefits from the fruity red wine notes of the pre-ageing. Dr. Jim Swan, a chemist and biologist by training and a passionate whisky expert, developed this special process. ShaveThe first step is to "shave" the cask. First, the cask is opened and the inner layer, heavily saturated with red wine, is scraped out. This gives the cask a combination of light red wine aromas and fresh oak (virgin oak).ToastThe exposed interior of the barrel is now toasted anew, by burning oak chips from old whiskey barrels. During this process, the sugar and vanillin in the oak caramelize and corresponding spicy and sweet notes are particularly accentuated. Re-charrFinally, the barrels are burned out once again to release as many aromas as possible and at the same time remove unwanted flavor carriers such as tart tannins and chemical compounds like lignin, cellulose, or hemicellulose.   By default, the drums are equipped with a used wooden or plastic bung. Used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood or, in certain circumstances, an uneven base, do not constitute a quality defect, but stem from the idiosyncrasies of the production method and the prior use of the barrels.
