Freshly emptied 190 l bourbon barrel from the Buffalo Trace Distillery - Sazerac Rye.
Rye 18 yr Specialty / LTD Select American Oak ONCE
Sazerac Rye is one of the oldest whiskies in America and part of the annual Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. This bottling comes from New Orleans and dates back to the time when toddies with rye whiskey and Peychauds Bitters were served in the famous Sazerac Coffee House. The resulting cocktail, the Sazerac, is one of America's oldest drinks and gives its name to this fantastic whiskey. It has a pleasantly complex aroma with notes of clove, vanilla, candied fruit and citrus. The long maturation period gives it a unique flavor development and makes it a sought-after bourbon for connoisseurs and collectors. The barrels are fitted with a used wooden or plastic stopper as standard. If you would like a new silicone bung, you can order this under accessories (standard type - C16). Pre-used wooden barrels: Notches in the wood, external stress cracks or possibly an uneven bottom are not quality defects, but are rather determined by the nature of the construction and the previous use of the barrels. This does not affect the functionality of the barrel. We check the barrels very carefully for sensory and technical defects during the outgoing inspection. We accept no liability for cracks or fissures that occur during maturation. A possible and reasonable repair is not covered by guarantee. All pictures are examples and optical deviations are possible.
Wild Turkey has a deep auburn color as it’s aged longer in barrels with the deepest char (#4, also known as alligator char)
You’ll smell slight tones of deep vanilla and oak with traces of citrus and toffee on top.
Wild Turkey is rich with vanilla and caramel with notes of toffee and light smoke
It is known for its long, rich, and full-bodied finish.
In 1940 Thomas McCarthy, one of the managers of the Ripy Distillery, brought whiskey from his own company to the turkey hunt. His friends liked the whiskey so much that the following year they asked him to bring back some of the "Wild Turkey" whiskey for hunting. This is how the colloquial name became the brand name

One barrel - two distilleries. Young, strong and full of flavor. The barrels were originally filled with bourbon in the USA before being carefully selected and then filled with single malt in Europe. The focus of these barrels is not the release of aroma through new wood, but rather the saturation with whiskey from their previous filling. These casks are ideal for storing and maturing distillates that need to spend a certain amount of time in a cask to develop their full aroma. They are more cost-effective compared to once-used barrels and also have a youthful freshness that is imbued with the characteristic aromas of bourbon. These characteristics make them perfect flavor carriers for the brewing industry, especially for refining beer. In addition, these barrels are also ideal for refining a variety of other products that can benefit from the additional aromas of whiskey, such as spices, coffee, cocoa beans and much more.

Freshly emptied 125 l Whisky barrels.
These American white oak barrels were made exclusively for Laphroaig Distillery.
The special thing about Laphroaig's Quarter Cask Whisky is that it is first stored in used bourbon casks and then in the smaller 125 l casks (the so-called double-mature process). In the past, these casks have only come into contact with Laphroaig whiskies, which is why they give off a smoky aroma of peat ash and an intense malt and citrus scent. The relatively large surface area in the cask gives your distillate a fine structure with an extraordinary depth.

Bourbon barrel aged maple syrup from Canada is an interesting and innovative variation on traditional maple syrup. This type of maple syrup is stored and aged in bourbon barrels to absorb the flavors of the bourbon barrel and give the syrup a unique flavor profile.
Aging maple syrup in bourbon barrels results in a combination of the sweet, caramel notes of maple syrup and the distinctive flavors of bourbon wood. Bourbon barrels are made of oak and can impart a variety of flavors to the syrup including vanilla, caramel, oak and even a slight smokiness.

Freshly emptied 225 l - 228 l barrels from Danish whisky casks.
The barrels were first filled with muscatel, bourbon or port wine and then with high-quality Danish whisky.
The whisky aged in these barrels was produced in a traditional manner -
quite literally by hand. The idea of producing Danish whisky originated during
a casual beer or whisky tasting, when the founders wondered why there was no
whisky distillery despite the country's high-quality raw materials. Initially
started as a hobby, the idea later evolved into a business model. The
distillery was relocated from a former butcher shop to a converted farmhouse
nearby, and over the past 10 years, it has become a renowned distillery with a
significant volume of whisky produced.
All the whisky's raw materials come from Denmark, including the excellent
Danish water and the peat used for smoking, sourced from an open-air museum.
With these barrels, you benefit from internationally acclaimed quality and
flavor.
The barrels are fitted with a used wooden or plastic stopper as standard. If
you would like a new silicone bung, you can order this under accessories

The Ardmore Distillery lies in the Scottish Highlands and has traditionally a strong connection with the region and the locals. Ardmore Whisky is naturally at the heart of this connection. Although the distillery has had several name changes since it was founded in 1898, it remains fundamentally the same distillery and its buildings are included in the Scottish Heritage list.
Ardmore Whisky is renown for its especially gentle and pleasing flavour. This flavour is immediately recognisable in the nose from the very first whiff: the notes of heather, sweet honey with light smoke come together to produce a very special blend in which hints of cinnamon and toffee are also recognizable. On the palate, the flavour of the lightly peated whisky gives way to notes of creamy vanilla, spices and sweet honey paired with light smokey flavours. The complexity of Ardmore Whisky is instantly recognizable with its soft, lingering aftertaste combined with full spicy notes.
The years of aging in the barrels allow the barrel staves to absorb the full whisky flavour. This interaction not only allows the whisky to mature but will also impart a wonderful flavour when the barrels are re-filled. As the whisky only has the slightest hint of peat, this opens the door for a wide range of possibilities for re-using these barrels.
